    Les ouvriers et les syndicalistes des usines textiles ont fait fi des menaces de fermeture proférées par des patrons des usines. Au contraire, ils menacent eux aussi de regagner les rues pour exiger 1500 gourdes de salaire minimum.

Depuis la réévaluation de la gourde nationale, les responsables des usines textiles opérant sur le territoire national ne cessent pas se plaindre de leur mauvaise condition. À en croire ces responsables, cette situation pourrait toutefois provoquer leur faillite. Pour cause, plusieurs d’entre eux menacent de fermer définitivement leurs portes. Les ouvriers ont, de leur côté, menacé de manifester à travers les rues de la capitale pour exiger un réajustement du salaire minimum, un scenario devenu habituel depuis plusieurs années.

    Le syndicaliste Dominique Saint-Eloi s’en prend aux responsables des usines textiles. Chaque année à pareille heure, c’est toujours la même rengaine. C’est une stratégie bien rodée de la part des patrons des usines pour ne pas réviser à la hausse le salaire minimum “Tuberculose” des ouvriers. C’est faux et archi faux, ils ne fermeront jamais leurs portes. Nous sommes déjà habitués à ce genre de discours …», a expliqué le syndicaliste Dominique St-Eloi. 

    «Nous n’allons pas tomber dans le piège des patrons des usines textiles. Nous sommes déjà en discussion. Ce qui est sûr, nous allons, dans les prochains jours, manifester dans les rues de la capitale pour réclamer 1500 gourdes comme salaire minimum »,  a déclaré le syndicaliste.

    La loi est claire. Dès qu’il y a une inflation avoisinant les 10 %, il faut qu’il y ait un réajustement salarial pour les ouvriers des usines textiles. C’est ce que nous réclamons, puisque l’inflation est actuellement à plus de 20% a-t-il précisé!

    Concernant les allégations faisant croire que certaines usines ont déjà fermé leurs portes, Dominique St-Eloi a apporté un démenti formel. «  Je ne suis pas au courant de cette information. À ce que je sache, il n’y a aucune fermeture pour l’instant », a confié le syndicaliste qui souhaite que le dollar continue de chuter pour que les prix des produits de première nécessité soient enfin révisés à la baisse sur le marché local, ce, pour le bien de population en général et en particulier les ouvriers des usines textiles qui, dit-il, souffrent amèrement de la cherté du coût de la vie.
